One of the sights and certainly the pride of Split is Diocletian's palace, which covers the city center and which dates from the 4th century, and the 1979th is under UNESCO protection. Citizens of Split like to say for Split that "the best sports town in the world", which can be substantiated by the fact that after the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. The Split city with the most Olympic medals in the world relative to population.
