As for the most part the soil predominantly bare karst Biokova with shallow soil. Altitude within the park range from 200m to the highest peak of Sv. Jure than 1762m above sea level.
The flora of the Nature Park Biokovo very specific and interesting dominated Illyrian-meditaran plants. Of forest reserves to emphasize beech and fir. Beech forest reserve is spread by the coastal slope Biokovo, a reserve on the northern continental Fir Park side. Apart from them, on the coastal slopes of Biokovo extend and forests of the Dalmatian black pine and Aleppo pine.
Fauna of Park of Nature Biokovo is not yet fully explored. We will mention butterflies which are found over 200 species from 19 families. Of amphibians to mention some protected species like the spotted salamander, a small newt, toad and a big green tree.
Of reptiles in the Park, there are numerous lizards and snakes most of which are protected. From other wildlife to mention a multitude of birds and mammals, of which some species are entered into the park Biokovo.
To the main entrance to the park in the area Biokovo path comes from the road Makarska - Vrgorac over the Biokovo road. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the park on foot, bicycle or car. There are also organized tours through travel agencies.
