Velebit Nature Park with its area of 2270 km2 is the largest Nature Park in Croatia and extends from the Vratnik on the northwest to the river canyon on the east and the coastal area to land bases in the region of Lika.

Because of its size, geographical location and different altitude within the park we find a different climate: continental, sub-Mediterranean and mountain climate. Because of its diversity Velebit is divided into five regions: Senjsko Bilo, Northern Velebit, Velebit Middle, South Velebit and Southeast Velebit.

The Flora and Fauna Nature Park Velebit could write endlessly. The flora boasts over 1800 different plant species, among which there are 79 endemic species and is known Degenia. Park Vegetation Mainly consisting of forests, meadows and pastures. The broadest types of forests are forests of beech, fir, ash and maple.
